La temporada 2022 de las Grandes Ligas se mantiene en el aire luego de que el 2021 cierra con un paro patronal, lo que pone en riesgo que todo pueda arrancar como estaba previsto.
La molestia de los dueños de los equipos se da tras el malestar provocado por el descenso del salario promedio, una clase media afectada debido a que los equipos concentran el costo en contratos más onerosos y la sustitución de peloteros veteranos por otros más jóvenes y peor pagados, especialmente en clubes que desmantelan sus plantillas para reconstruirse.
Los lanzadores y receptores tienen que presentarse a los entrenamientos de primavera el 16 de febrero, lo que deja muy poco margen para que se llegue a un acuerdo entre la oficina del comisionado Rob Manfred, los dueños de los equipos y la MLBPA.
La temporada está prevista para iniciar el 31 de marzo, la cual se ve muy complicada que se pueda cumplir y es que hasta ahora no hay avances en las negociaciones para levantar el paro.
Habrá que esperar para conocer la evolución que va llevando el conflicto y saber si tendremos una temporada completa, una recortada o finalmente no habrá béisbol de la Gran Carpa en el 2022.
